Snow March - hibernate or play in it? I choose play!

Snow in Loveland COMarch is the snowiest month of the year in Loveland, CO. You can hibernate indoors and take a break from the cold and snowy dark days of winter or you can play!  I choose play.

People Love The White Fluffy Stuff

Although it's cold and snowy, one fantastic thing about Colorado is that people love the snow, especially the kids.  Sledding, skiing, snowshoeing, and snowboarding are all an adventure to make winter bearable.  Most subdivisions have an area where you can sled with other families without having to travel.  Enjoy the company of others and get to know your neighbors.

Snow is a great work out

What better way to burn some calories with a snowball fight.  You will laugh, have a little competition, and enjoy your friends and family, all at the same time. Plus you will burn around 500 calories an hour.

Snow is a magical cold droplet of water.  It's fun to stick your tongue out and see if you can catch a flake or two.  Try making a snowman or making a snow angel.

Snow is a pain and stress relief

Yes, that's right.  Instead of using a cold pack, try taking a walk in the cold or scoop your snowy walk.  In the cold, the blood boosts its levels of norepinephrine, a natural chemical produced by the body that reduces pain.

Laughing may lower inflammation and decrease the amount of stress hormones in your body that can hurt your immune system.

So go ahead, enjoy this month of March in snowy Loveland, CO.  It will make you feel good and is good for your over all well being.  After your outing, head to one of the local coffee shops in downtown Loveland, the Coffee Tree for a cup of hot chocolate to warm up and dry out.

Or if you choose to hibernate indoors, enjoy a book, relax by the fire, or cuddle up with a blanket and watch your favorite movie.  It's all a part of March in Colorado.
